Light Installation

You want to get something done, so you spend the whole day in and around Euljiro, running back and forth in the tiny streets looking for the best deal, haggling with ajussis until you run out of steam, but you don’t want to go home just yet.

A common sight in Euljiro, the classic plastic stool becomes an unexpected oasis of tranquility no matter what busy back-alley you find yourself in. This installation is a spatial glimpse of Euljiro, a tesseract of illuminated breaktime. Just gotta go to one more shop..

Almond Studio made this installation for Euljiro Light Way, an annual fair held to promote the lighting industry in and around the Euljiro area. We picked up the classic red plastic chair and sought to reproduce the atmosphere of a pojang mocha, a kind of mobile tent for street food vendors. During the Euljiro Light Way fair, we were happy to see many visitors enjoy the installation, sitting down and posing for pictures and sharing their experience.

We hope to get another chance to set up the installation in the future!
